This might seem like a simple topic to some, but people still make some files with pretty wierd (or no) directory structure, and it makes things tougher for everyone. Depending on what you use, there may be other ways, but with WinZip, this is the best way to get it right. Figure out what content the map is going to need, and create new directories in some other directory, and put your content into there. For example, if you had a map called ahl_saqville with a .bsp and readme, a new sky, some sprites, and a .wad, you'd make c:\ahl_saqville\maps, c:\ahl_saqville\gfx\env, c:\ahl_saqville\sprites, and the .wad would go into c:\ahl_saqville. Now select the .wad and the directories in the Windows explorer, right click, and pick "add to .zip" and fill out everything, and leave "save full path info" unchecked. This is all you need, and extracting the .zip to halflife\action will send everything to its right place. |
