New map, new review
Bedwetting Type sent in VB2, a pleasant map of somewhere he worked. There are a couple thumbs on its review page.

Also, there is a new review of Wikked3 which does justice quite well to the classic map.

Both are accessible from the maps section.

New QuArK DataHL file
For those of you who use QuArK, there is a new dataHL that includes the AHL B4 entities. You can get it here whenever 3DD picks up on it. It's also on the map resources page with the other misc stuff.

This comes from the official site, where you can always find the newst QuArK data file.

I have returned (and updated)
I'll just list the updates.

- Map submissions are now taken.

- In connection with the submission page, I made three cheap tutorials with related information.

- I changed the Half-Life Editing Resource Center's URL in the Links section to reflect its new domain.

- I added links for the AHL and A-Team homepages. Somehow those were missing before.

- I added missing files to and reuploaded 110thst and dm_dojo, meaning they actually work now.

I think that's it.

Finally something
I've been ill the last few days.. and I'm going out of town for the weekend.

BUT I SWEAR THE MAP SUBMISSIONS WILL BE OPEN ON SUNDAY. By the way, you can send in reviews in the meantime.

Finals week has arrived, so I'll be getting back to work here after that.

I've been working...
...as you can see. I need to get the archived news into this same form and go through the files on the archive to make sure all content is included and stuff.

The review pages need to get checked over as well, and I have to get some people in order before I start accepting any maps. Nearly there.

Not quite, but anyway.
I fixed the file links and removed the maps I was going to axe. Some aren't working because I don't have the files uploaded or they haven't filtered to 3ddownloads yet.

Clamtex and Kintex released
Malcolm/Mloclam/Alice/Luke released his smashing .wad files. 5 or 6 beta 4 maps used earlier versions of these, and even there you can see the quality. These would probably go into a special section here if there were any functioning.

Here is his post, and here are direct links to clamtex and kintex.

Happy release
I guess this site is still not ready. Well, have fun with the current set of maps for a while. Things will be working here sometime soon.

The latest news
Here's what's going on:

I'm the new webmaster. I was on staff already (doing little), but Octave realized he had no time to manage this site, and after some e-mail I was the new designee.

Ace12ga is working on some scripts for the map archive/info/review stuff, so once that's done, things will begin working here. The archive will be wiped and started new with the old maps that are of quality, followed by any good submissions we get.

So, the site is still closed. It MAY be back in time for Beta 4's release, but I can't make promises.

Ok here's the score:
There is some debate about the quality of the maps on the depot and what should be here and what shouldn't etc.
I've said it once and I'll say it again: the site is going to be totally re-done. We're gonna have a script-based map-archive and you'll all be able to vote on maps etc and there will be proper submission guidelines.

All I've done was upload the maps that were submitted to HG just before I took over, the other maps were done afterwards and I had no chance to look at the maps and vette their quality- I was kinda hoping for some reviews to be submitted and thus players would have an indication as to whether or not a map is worth downloading or not.

We can't help the current state that the map depot was left in before we took over and we're trying our best in the little time we have to sort things out

Please bear with us on this.

Thnx

In the meantime go check out the maps, and if you really think: "omg this is awful" etc sumbit a review rating (out of 5) and if enough people feel the same as you that rating'll be posted up until this site is overhauled.

Map Download Area Update in progress
Ok , I'm currently re-structuring the map archive to make it a bit clearer to read , and to include screenshorts and some short info about the map. This'll be a temporary fix until this site gets a complete overhaul.

To people who already have maps up on the depot: if you have a particular screenie you'd like used send it to me at:

octavedoctor@telefragged.com

Btw they'll only be thumbnails intially to save page loading times.

Back from the Dead
Oooh Yaaah....

Just a quick shout to say I'm alive and well, back from a world of RL mayhem and ready to make this site kick ass once again.

First up we have a Phat new logo made by CHPX. Later on this week I'll finally post some new maps and I'll keep posting as they keep coming.

So if you have a new finished map out there that your proud of and would like the rest of the AHL community to get their mits on it, give me a shout at the contact addy, stating where I can download it from and we'll get it posted up here.

Reviewers:things are going even slower with the reviews section at the moment-but send me your map reviews and I'll do my best to get them posted up here.

Anywayz, keep your eyes open and watch this space!

News Scripts, and future automation.
As you may notice, the news page has changed slightly, well I added in a script driven news system, at Borg's request. So this just makes the lives of the AHLMD guys easier. Now they can post news with ease, no more HTML editing. Whats this mean though in the long run? Borg will bother me, and bother me, until I make the entire site, script driven. Resistance is indeed futile.
So expect some changes over the next 2 weeks. Probably nothing too visible, just behind the scenes stuff that will make this site run better.

Ace is l33t
Finally we have a news script by Jack of all trades Ace12GA. Now it is even easier for us to update the site regularly. Just received a mail from Octave Doctor. He is right now busy with his Rl/Job but don't worry. Borg is here ! :)
Everybody who wants to help us drop me mail please.
Ace told me the current html is a mess ; ) so we will work on it. Got a few reviews ..thx for sending.
Maybe we will make an review script...hmm online reviews ?! Could be an idea but I don't want to stress Ace too much
Well..that's it for now
