Waypoints and Locs.

As you can probably see from the Archive page, I've added in links to available location and waypoint files, even if provided in the Beta3 pack.

Submissions are welcome - mail them to me at the usual address.

Rooftops.

Zebedee's new map's out - get it from the Archive. I've been following this one; a very nice small map.

Free time!

I've got free time! My 9 month long deadline is finally over, so I'll actually have some more free time!

On a side note, thanks to MM of the lovely Telefragged for fixing the banner ads. I've changed them throughout the site now.

Archive finished!

My shiny new archive page is finished; you can now use that rather than the links on the side. I've also added TreeHouse.

Get your reviews in for the maps in the Archive!

Two new maps!

The Man With The Prodigious Output©, HFactor, has released his first map, Waterwerx, and it's a corker of a small map! Very efficient (r_speeds are practically in 2 figures), and clean lines, this'd be a blast on a LAN or with a small number of players.

Another arena map that I've received is, appropriately, called Arena, by Aratron.
A simple map with low r_speeds, you'll enjoy this one if you like Waterwerx. A good companion actually; this one more open in contrast to WW's interconnecting tunnels. Take a look - together they weigh in at only 330k!

I've also started working on a better Map Archive page - tabulated with file size, review links, author etc.

Action Network Launch!

Welcome to the launch of the official Action Network! What is the Action Network you ask? It's a network of sites designed to provide the Action community with all the resources anyone would ever need. The Action Network is a collaboration between four of the most up-and-coming major sites in the Action community:

Action Bunker, Haven o' Frags, Action Half-Life Map Depot, and Action.Art. Each of these sites is designed to provide you, the player, with as much information you can handle, at a high standard, and specialized in a certain task.

Action Bunker - A heavily updated fan site, the hub of the Action Network. Featuring up to the minute news and information. Along with interviews of the A-Team and other members of the community, a strategy section, how-to's, tutorials, forums, and for all of you writers out there user submitted articles. All based on the Half-life modification, Action Half-life.

Haven o' Frags - Haven 'o Frags is the official weapon replacement site for Action Half-Life. Here you will be able to download quality weapon model replacements that have been tested and meet our strict but necessary requirements. We also have a crosshairs archive and other miscellaneous items like replacement HUDs available for download.

Action Art - A site designed with a community focus in mind. The site does not thrive without content from YOU, The Action fan! Our site is a chance to have your artwork displayed for everyone to see, in your own gallery, with your email displayed for people to send feedback. As you send in more work, your gallery will be updated. We also accept cool and weird screenshots as well, so those of you not so artistically inclined can have a chance to have your name in lights as well! If you want to go the whole nine yards, you can even write Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro tutorials for us, and we'll be more than happy to post them up. We thrive on submissions from the community.

Action Half-Life Map Depot - The official source for quality Action Half-Life maps. Maps are being reviewed to help you spend your time and bandwith more reasonably. Thats the place where everyone, including the A-Team are submitting their maps to. If you are a mapper who wants to contribute his skills to the community, this is where to get tools and information so you can jump right into the design process.

Well, there you have it! We hope you will enjoy these resources, as we will enjoy bringing you top-notch content for many months ahead!

A few things.

Firstly, an apology; I've got a massive real-life deadline, which is consuming most of my time. I've still managed to get quite a few map tests done; sorry if there's anyone I haven't got back to yet; send me a reminder next week.

Secondly, there is a job offer from James Parker of Particle Systems, makers of the excellent I-War. This is a UK-only position (I'd take it up myself, but I'm busy!), so take a look if you're interested.

News has also been archived.

City re-added.

I took City down some time ago (the reason being it included very obvious M4 references!); it's back up now.

Maniac's asked me to pimp Action HL.co.uk, so here I am :)

On a side note, any suggestions as to what I should do as a tutorial subject on MapFinger? My first (Action Mapping) is already up, so take a look at that.

Two nice surprises!

After a whole load of revisions (I wouldn't let him release it until I thought it was perfect!) VektuzCat/ProMagnon has released Clinic1.5; grab it on the left.

I've also found a really ingenious way of getting large open areas in the Half-Life engine; I want to test it some more, but for now here's a pic of an early version I made using a terrain-lofting program:

.

Look out for this soon.

I'd also like to make a request - can people now start reviewing the Beta3 maps? I told several people to wait for Beta3... so now's your chance :)
Thanks.

Big News!

Well, Beta3 is released; get it from the main page. You'll be happy to know that you're not alone if things are busy - I'm told we brought down Telefragged, Stomped and Fileplanet when we released, and we had 1000 people trying to join the release party. Thanks for the interest!

If you want a guide to the maps that are in the release, take a look at my MapGuide, and you can download the AHL FGD here. Enjoy!
Nice to see you active again Shagg!
