Napoli
Napoli is a map made by banana and Speedy. Speedy made the first version of this map for another mod and banana gave it one of his famous makeovers and made it fit AHL. With banana's new version, all roofs are accessible. The map also follows in the same suit as Casagrande and Calypso. Napoli, like most of the other AHL b5 maps, is medium to large in size, but has excellent connectivity to keep rounds long enough for action but short enough for those quick fatalities.
This map takes place in an Italian mountain town. Everything you would expect to be in a place like this is here: Italian streetlights, an old church, a record playing with Italian music and of course, a central water fountain allowing you to clean the blood of your knives. Napoli is a very open map which offers rooftop action and long range fights. Almost all buildings are closed off, so camping players have no advantage.
Since this map is very open, using the shotgun
or HC effectively in this map will be very hard. You can always wait on the
other side of the large doors and wait for some one to go through them, but that
is camping and not the way AHL is meant to be played! The other option is to practice
your roof diving skills, and dive from the roofs to surprise your enemies.
This is the best way to follow your enemies in pursuit, but you will receive slight damage. When you see a sniper at long range and you
want to charge him, it is best not to run or dive at him in one straight line,
or he will easily snipe you. The most effective method to approach a sniper is to make zig
zag movements, going left then right and so on. This will make
it much harder to predict where you are going and thus much harder to snipe.
Yet another map where NV and Flashlight are useless. :D
